Demo import troubleshooting
If you experience problems with importing the demo content, it is very likely that your server might have a restricted timeout set for running scripts and importing the demo data might exceed the default server timeout.
In this case there are a couple of things that you can try:
- Go to the Media section of the admin and check if there are any media items imported, please note that sometimes the imported images might not be displayed on the first page.
If there are any items imported, it means that import is working, however due to some server restrictions, it can’t import all of the data at once. In this case, all you have to do is to repeat the import until it imports all of the data. If there are more media items imported after each attempt, then it will import all of the data at some point. For the main demo, the theme would import around 200 media items and once all of them are imported the rest of the data will be imported as well. - Try to import one of the mini demos instead of the main demo – they contain much less images and data and it is very likely that the import will be successful even if there are some restrictions applied to the server.
